Kam.21a מעיקרא ק׳וכ׳ originally Carmanians had been living on the abandoned property belonging to the orphans, and had been paying a nominal rent; (Ms. M. קַדְמָאֵי, Ms. R. a. vers. in Raschi קַדְמוֹנָאֵי old settlers or nomads = בני קדם).
